Student Conduct Board

Through participation on the Student Conduct Board, students help safeguard the rights of their peers and strengthen the community.

About the Student Conduct Board

The Student Conduct Board (SCB) is responsible for hearing cases involving serious violations of the University's Code of Conduct, potentially leading to disciplinary actions such as suspension or expulsion. The board, comprised of students, faculty, and administrators, follows fair procedures to ensure students' rights are upheld. Hearing panels review evidence and witness testimony to make decisions about responsibility and recommendations about appropriate outcomes, which are then forwarded to the OSCCS director for final determination.

Student Participation in the SCB

Undergraduate students, graduate students, and medical students participate as members of the Student Conduct Board. Each year, student members are appointed by the Undergraduate Council of Students (UCS), the Graduate Student Council (GSC), and the Alpert Medical Student Senate (MSS). If there is a vacancy among the members of the SCB or if an additional member or members are needed to hear a case, OSCCS may appoint a temporary member.
