Student Conduct Procedures

Brown's Student Conduct Procedures – designed to be educational in nature – provide processes to investigate and resolve alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct.

The Student Conduct Procedures contain information about the processes for investigating and resolving alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct involving individual students and student groups.

Summary of Student Conduct Procedures

These two procedural documents, while similar, contain distinct and detailed information about the conduct processes for students and student groups. In general, they outline the following information:

  1. Why, when and how to report information or file a complaint
  2. What happens when someone files a complaint
  3. How the administration might attempt to resolve the complaint with non-disciplinary actions or a lower-level or higher-level disciplinary response
  4. The rights and responsibilities students have
  5. How disciplinary procedures and hearings will be conducted
  6. What outcomes might be expected
  7. How students can appeal any decisions
  8. How OSCCS retains records and reports information
